Andy Suzuki, a half-Japanese half-Jewish singer/song writer, entered the radio waves last night on Thursday November 5th with an exclusive interview on KromeRadio, which is based in the studios of UICRadio at the University of Illinois in Chicago, gathering a wide range of audience, not only from the local students, but also worldwide with a live social media interaction through Twitter and their Radio Chatroom at Crunchyroll.com
Andy sings mostly in English. He recently released his album titled “300 Pianos” with 13 beautiful songs. He also plans to break into the Asian market, starting with Japan. Yes, he can sing in Japanese too. He made a really nice cover of Angela Aki’s “Tegami”.
Some of his music influences are Jason Mraz and John Mayer and started writing songs at Brown University. He expanded his sound by linking up with percussionist Kozza Babumba (grandson of Grammy-winner Babatunde Olatunji) and electric violinist Jason G. The three of them started recording their first CD with “300 Pianos” powerful meaning based on Andy’s father’s battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. And with talent of Aviad H-C (guitar), Jon Kraus (drum kit), and Nicolai Kaarsen (bass) together they all become Andy Suzuki & The Method.
Now, Andy plays both acoustic and full band shows, selling out reputable clubs in NYC such as Sullivan Hall, The Bitter End, and Rockwood Music Hall. He performs at schools and venues up and down the east coast.
